The native currency XEM can be "harvested" using unique PoI (Proof of Importance) consensus algorithm, similar to PoS where "money makes money". The Importance is determined by the number of coins the user has and the number of transactions associated with the wallet. One of the key algorithms is Eigentrust++, a reputation system, and a security clustering algorithm that monitors the behavior of nodes in the network in the past and enables nodes to give reputation to the neighbors in clusters.
