About Aptos

Aptos is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain that uses a Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism. It aims to be the safest and most scalable Layer 1 blockchain, leveraging the Move programming language and Move VM for application development, which are optimized for blockchain use cases. The project was created by the original team behind Diem, a blockchain built for similar purposes. Aptos has raised $200 million from investors including a16z, Multicoin, and Binance. It launched its Devnet in mid-March, an incentivized testnet in late May, and targeted a mainnet launch in Q3.
