About Flare

Flare is an EVM-based Layer 1 blockchain designed to enable developers to build applications that are interoperable with other blockchains and the internet. It aims to provide decentralized access to high-integrity data, enabling new use cases and monetization models. Flare's native interoperability protocols, the State Connector and the Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO), are secured by the network itself, allowing reliable delivery of data from off-chain sources in a decentralized manner. The FTSO provides highly decentralized price and data feeds to dapps without relying on centralized providers, while the State Connector enables information from other blockchains and the internet to be used securely, scalably, and trustlessly with smart contracts on Flare. By building this decentralized data infrastructure natively into the blockchain and incentivizing independent data providers, Flare aims to minimize risk and facilitate the development of interoperable dapps.
