VeChain is a public Layer-1 blockchain designed for real-world applications, founded in 2015. Its VeChainThor network supports enterprise and consumer use cases involving supply chains, product provenance, sustainability, digital product passports, tokenized incentives, and verifiable data. VeChainThor combines EVM-compatible smart contracts with a dual-token model, native fee delegation, and multi-clause transactions. VET is the network's native asset and staking collateral, while VTHO is used to pay transaction fees and execute smart contracts. The ecosystem includes VeBetter, an app platform rewarding verified positive actions; StarGate, an NFT-based staking platform; VeWorld, a self-custody wallet; and VeWorld.ai, an AI-agent platform.
